Minor Disaster

Phil headed out to make a long move for the cows today, a move from the north of us to the south. It took him until about 7 hours. It was a long, humid hike through tall grass with cows who haven't moved like that in a half a year.

At one point, he came in with a funny look on his face. The chain on the top of the mixer broke, which bent the hydraulic shaft. That renders the mixer unusable. And since spare hydraulic shafts aren't standard stocked items like eggs at a grocery, we would be looking at an unexpected wait for parts. And he is so close to being done! Argh!

I think the plan is to have him mix batches of mortar by hand. When it comes time to grout, we'll rent a concrete mixer from a rental place (assuming they have one).

So that was a minor disaster.

Then he received the Liquid Membrane he ordered to finish waterproofing. They accidentally shipped a 1.5 gallon container, rather than a four gallon.

Some days are like that.
